Vejle sits at the head of Vejle Fjord in southeastern Jutland, where forested hills create an unusually dramatic valley setting for Denmark. The main railway line between Copenhagen and Fredericia passes through Vejle's central station, offering direct connections to the capital in 2.5 hours and Aarhus in one hour. Short trips include Børkop (13 km), Jelling (12 km), and Billund (29 km), while longer journeys extend to Silkeborg (59 km), Aarhus (70 km), and Odense (77 km). The E45 provides the primary north-south corridor, while Route 18 connects eastward to Fredericia and the Great Belt Bridge. Route 28 leads northwest toward Silkeborg and the Lake District.
